Delete your Mira account
You can delete your account directly in the Mira app — no emails or support tickets required. Here's exactly how, and what happens to your data.
- 1
Open the Mira app and sign in
You must be signed in to the account you want to delete. Account deletion cannot be done from a logged-out session.
- 2
Go to Security & Wallet PIN
From your profile or settings, open the Security & Wallet PIN screen. This is where sensitive account actions live.
- 3
Tap “Delete Account”
You'll find the Delete Account option at the bottom of the Security & Wallet PIN screen.
- 4
Confirm with your wallet PIN
For your security, we ask you to re-authenticate (your wallet PIN or biometrics) before a deletion request is accepted. This prevents anyone else from deleting your account.
- 5
Deletion is scheduled
Your account is deactivated immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion after a 14-day grace period.
The 14-day grace period
After you confirm, your account is deactivated straight away but your data is kept for 14 days. Changed your mind? Sign in again within those 14 days and cancel the deletion — your account is restored exactly as it was. After 14 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Before you delete
- Withdraw or spend any remaining wallet balance — it cannot be recovered after deletion.
- Settle any pending transfers, bill payments, or rides.
- Deletion may be blocked while transactions are still processing.
What we delete and what we keep
Your profile, devices, and sign-in access are permanently removed. As a licensed financial service, we are required by Nigerian law to retain transaction records and KYC information for the statutory retention period, after which they are destroyed. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
